The mission of the Lexington Children’s Theatre Education Department is to provide students of all ages with the means to actively explore the beauty, diversity, complexity and challenges of the world around them through the dramatic process. We strive for our students to develop their own unique creative voice, their imagination and their understanding of drama and its role in society. We look forward to having your child(ren) grow as they experience new adventures and challenges in our classes!

First Stage Players:
(FSP) Ages 4-5
Open up a book and leap right in! The First Stage Players, offered for ages 4 & 5, investigate favorite stories through drama while creating a simple performance. Students share the story using music, song, art, costumes and creative drama techniques as their teachers guide them towards their Friday presentation. Have your child live inside some wonderful stories.
We do not recommend that students take consecutive classes in a week making it a full day for your child.

Playmakers:
(PM) Ages 6-7
This class is designed to meet the needs and interests of 6 & 7 year olds. In this daylong class, students work to create their own play by using contemporary literature as source material. The class will originate their own characters, dialogue and tale. The sharing will use basic costumes and scenery in a wonderful presentation at the end of the week.

Performance Workshop:
(PW)Ages 8 and up
Daylong sessions that allow participants to improve their acting and performing skills. Students receive a class in acting, improvisation, voice, and movement. Each child enrolled in a workshop receives a speaking role in the play and rehearses every day, culminating in a fully mounted performance for family and friends on Friday evening. Sign up to add a little drama to your child’s life!

Musical Theatre Revue:
(MTR) Ages 8 and up
Designed for students who wish to develop their musical performance and presentation skills. Each session has a different theme or idea that ties the music together. Students will be singing and dancing as they learn what it is like to be in musical theatre. The class culminates in a musical revue for family and friends on Friday evening.

Cancellation Policy
A $20 nonrefundable registration fee is included in the tuition. If LCT cancels the class for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
- If student cancels more than two weeks before class begins, student will receive a full refund, less the $20 registration fee.
- If student cancels less than two weeks prior but before class begins, student will receive full credit towards another theatre school class during that fiscal year.
- If student cancels the day of or after class begins, a credit will be issued for 70% of the tuition.
- After the second class, no adjustments will be made.
If you choose to transfer enrollment or switch a class for any reason, a $10 processing fee will be charged.
Class Sizes/Waiting Lists
LCT reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment. Some classes may fill, but we will accept students on a waiting list in case of cancellations or additional sections.
T-shirts
Each year, LCT Theatre School designs a T-shirt to commemorate the summer. Help your child remember LCT on their way to becoming a star! Cost for the shirt is $15. Pre-order and get your shirt the first day of class.
Confirmation
You receive an e-mail to confirm your spot in class. This letter confirms dates, times, location and specific instructions for the class. An emergency contact form and parents handbook will also be sent. This should answer most of your questions. Please fill out the emergency contact form and bring it with you to the first day of class.
Extended Care
LCT provides an extended care service to those parents in need of early drop-off or late pick-up. The service is provided from 8:00 - 9:00 AM and from 4:00 - 6:00 PM with prior arrangement. You may pay a weekly rate of $40 or a daily rate of $9, depending on your use of the service.
