The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller

Based on the story by Washington Irving

Recommended for ages 9 and up

Ichabod Crane arrives in town to teach the mysterious tales of Sleepy Hollow including the haunting and bone-chilling story of the Headless Horseman. Ichabod catches an eye for the wealthy farmer’s daughter Katrina Van Tassel and is determined to win her hand over his rival Brom Bones. Based on Washington Irving’s 18th century classic, join us to find out who Katrina chooses one autumn night and who makes it home safely through the haunted Sleepy Hollow.

Jack and the Wonder Beans

A participatory play adapted by Larry Snipes

Based on the book by Kentucky Poet Laureate James Still

Recommended for ages 4 and up

Jack lives a simple life on Wolfpen Creek with his mam and his cow. One spring the cow goes dry and mam tells Jack to sell her. Thinking he won’t get a better offer, Jack trades with a Gypsy for some beans he can plant. When a sky-high stalk grows from those beans Jack climbs to new adventures meeting along the way a High Tall Giant Lady and her husband. But Jack quickly finds himself in a heap of trouble. Find out what Jack learns from his journey just in the nick of time.

Compassion, disobedience and forgiveness: words that have a meaning in all our lives.  For a puppet trying desperately to become a real boy, these words  are lessons he must learn to understand.  What does it mean to be Real? Join LCT, Geppetto, the blue fairy and Pinocchio as they journey into magical worlds and discover what Geppetto means when he says, “It’s the dreamers in the world who give the rest of us hope.”

 

 We hope you'll join us as your students take the opportunity to shine on the Morehead Conference Center stage. Audition and rehearsal information will also be forthcoming.
